Game designer
DeathBall started in 2017 as a 6 day project during Tony's final days in San Francisco leading up to the 3rd Annual SF Killer Queen GDC Tournament. While the tournament raged on at San Francisco's Brewcade, there was a small laptop with two XBOX controllers in the corner that was drawing more and more attention. A simple concept: two wizards, one ball, one bubble, one button, lots of possibilities. By the end of the night Brewcade and DeathBall forged a simple promise: if a cabinet was built, it would be put in the bar.

DeathBall is headquartered in Elkader, Iowa, hometown of founder Tony Hauber. The first 35 cabs were built right here in a local shop with local help. Today they are made just two hours away at Fun Company in New Lisbon, Wisconsin, and you can still play for free at the local bar, TD's Sports Bar and Grill.

FAQ
DeathBall is easy to learn but hard to master, and it started with the roots of bringing communities together. One button and one joystick is all it takes to play, but the expressive move set keeps people coming back for years.
Both cabs play head-to-head 1v1 or solo against a bot. The 2 Player cab also lets two players team up against bots. The 4 Player cab adds 1v2 and 2v2, so anywhere from one to four wizards can play at once.
